If you or someone you care about is participating in medication-assisted treatment (a combination of medication and counseling and behavioral therapy) to help heal from an opioid use disorder, you may have discovered that there are not a lot of options for support groups in the greater Bangor region.

Seeing a need for one, Nick St. Louis and Kristi Murray worked with the Bangor Area Recovery Network (BARN) to help put a support group together. M.A.P.S. (Medication Assisted Peer Support) Group starts tonight and will meet every Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the BARN, located at 142 Center St. in Brewer.

Thank you Sarah for this great information.
