Dr. Michael Starks, General Surgeon here at St. Joe’s General Surgery gives a short video on when you may need his services.
Thyroid nodules need to be examined and may lead to surgery. If caught early the outcome is often positive. How do you know if you have a thyroid nodule? Some people may see a “second adams apple” near their voice box, their primary care provider may find the lump or it may show up while getting other radiologist testing.
It is important to have nodules checked. They can show up by causing a hoarse voice, pressure in the front of the neck, pain, difficulty swallowing or even problems breathing.
