newspaper_laptopA recent initiative to provide free doses of Naloxone (also known as Narcan) – an antidote to opioid overdose – has received national attention. The program was created through the Community Health Leadership Board (CHLB), a consortium of healthcare providers in the Bangor area, including St. Joe’s.

This Associated Press Story was carried by the online versions of TV and print media in several states, not only in Maine, but also in Washington DC, California, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee and more.

Congratulations and thanks to the CHLB for their efforts to make these life-saving “survival kits” available free to sufferers of substance abuse disorder in our community.
