Epic Sports – Rabbit Run

WhereBangor City Forest, Kittredge Rd, Bangor, ME (map)

The 5.25 mile course will take you through much of the City Forest and involve roots, rocks, mud and maybe a water crossing or two. The starting line will be at the gate on Kittredge Rd. leading into the forest. Bibs & shirts may be picked up on race day near the starting line beginning at 8:30 am or Friday before the race at Epic Sports. Parking will be available on Kittredge Rd. Dogs are allowed on leash. Friends of Acadia Roadside Clean-Up

The 18th annual Friends of Acadia Earth Day Roadside Cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Hundreds of volunteers participate each year to remove litter from the roadsides of Mount Desert Island and Trenton to help protect our shared lands and waters. Training, gloves, vests, trash bags, snacks, and a fun giveaway will be provided to all volunteers.

The Bangor Band will be holding its annual Spring concert on Sunday, April 30th at 4 p.m. at Bangor High School’s Peakes Auditorium. The concert will be a great way to welcome the warmth of spring while paying tribute to those band members whom we have lost in the last year. The concert will feature works by John Williams, Steven Reinke, Joe Tichelli, and a perennial favorite, John Philip Sousa.

Admission is free and donations are gratefully accepted.

We are one of the oldest, continuous community bands in the United States and have been performing concerts at various venues throughout the greater Bangor area every summer for three centuries, ever since our first season in 1859!

Registration for the run is $25 and can be completed on line at Zonta’s website, or at the event. Teams will be given a special rate of $15 per person for groups of 10 or more.

Both WOMEN and MEN are invited to the run.

Don’t forget the KIDS’ FUN RUN at 10 o’clock, after the 5K.
Fee to run is one non-perishable food item per child.

There will be a Zumba PRE RACE Zumba warm-up, Fire Trucks to touch and prizes for runners. Join the fun!
