Festival in Pickering Square

Pickering Square, Downtown Bangor

Starring Bangor’s Community Connector, washed out on 4/22 now back in the sun this Saturday 11AM to 1 PM. Caring for the Earth and promoting our local public transportation system, the festival features kid and family-friendly activities: face-painting and sidewalk art, music and story-telling, seed-planting and bubbles, zumba and juggling. Come play, learn, celebrate!

Book signing with Hope Rowan, author of “Ten Days in Acadia: A Kids’ Hiking Guide to Mount Desert Island.” She will talk about mapping activities for kids with a book signing to follow. Copies of the book will be available for sale and personalized autographs.

Cosmic Colors will take you on a wondrous journey across the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Discover the many reasons for color—like why the sky is blue and why Mars is red. Take a tour within a plant leaf and journey inside the human eye. Investigate x-rays by voyaging to a monstrous black hole and then back at your doctor’s office. You will even see the actual color of a dinosaur–based on recent evidence. Get ready for an amazing adventure under a rainbow of cosmic light! Includes a tour of the night sky as viewed from Maine! Program geared for family audiences.
