There’s always good weekend fun in Maine, indoors or out. Water sport fans will enjoy the Greater Gardiner River Festival, all day Saturday, June 1d in downtown Gardiner and along the waterfront. There’s a pancake breakfast at 8 am, followed by many more family fun activities throughout the day.
Closer to home, if you really want to get out on the water, join the Father’s Day Paddle, this Sunday at Hirundo Wildlife Refuge in Alton (about a half-hour north of Bangor, heading west on Rte 43 off I-95 exit 197). Enjoy a quiet evening paddle beginning at 6:30 pm. More info here, courtesy of BDN Maine.
For landlubbers, enjoy a rousing production of The Full Monty, now playing at the Penobscot Theater in downtown Bangor. The Theater describes it as a show that follows six unemployed steel workers who decide that taking it all off might be the most reliable way to earn the money and respect they have been missing. Info and tickets.
And that’s our weekend sampler for this week! Stay tuned for more next weekend and have a fun and healthy week!
