Art lovers will enjoy the annual Arts in the Park in Belfast this Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy browsing lots of artwork and crafts, while enjoying live music and food. It’s right on the water in beautiful coastal Belfast, Maine.
A bit further afield, but worth the trip for fans of the classic soft drink, another legendary Maine treasure is being celebrated. Join the fun at the annual Moxie Festival in Lisbon Falls, all weekend. Take Rte. 196 north from the Topsham exit of I-295 or south from the Lewiston exit of I-95. Early birds will enjoy the pancake breakfast Saturday from 6:45 to 9:15 at the Masonic Lodge. Thrill to the unusual (to say the least) floats and trucks in the Moxie Festival Parade, starting at 10 a.m. There are also food vendors, a Sunday car show, Roaming Railroad rides and of course, lots of Moxie. Check the website for all the activities.
If your kids’ idea of a vintage automobile is Grandpa’s 2009 Buick Lucerne, then they (and you) are in for a treat on Mount Desert island this Saturday, when it’s Kids’ Day at the Seal Cove Auto Museum. Kids under 12 get in free and enjoy remote controlled car races, rides in old autos (weather permitting) and more. Kids of all ages get to explore a huge building filled with beautifully restored rolling stock from bygone eras. This museum is a wonderful, well-kept secret on the quiet side of the Island.
