Today was THE DAY! Did you catch some of the media coverage about the eclipse? Did you get outside and NOT LOOK UP!
This was truly a historical event. For the first time in 99 years, a total solar eclipse passed across the entire United States.
Maine did not get to experience a total eclipse this time. It is said that the best place in the U.S. to be was in the Carbondale, Illinois area where total darkness could last up to 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
It looks like the next total eclipse which will occur in 2024 will sweep across Maine.
