This week as celebrate the respiratory care profession and raise awareness for improving lung health around the world.
No matter where you work in respiratory care, whether it’s neonatal-pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency care, pulmonary rehabilitation, acute care, home care, education, sleep or another specialty, your role as a respiratory therapist is to restore and improve lung heath to patient’s lives. RC Week is the time to tell your story and educate the community.
National Respiratory Care Week (RC Week) is celebrated October 22-28, 2017, when respiratory therapists, pulmonary doctors, and members of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) come together to celebrate their profession through events and activities. These events help educate their community and colleagues about what they do and the vital value respiratory therapists deliver each day to patients, according to the AARC.
“Respiratory therapists are an asset to any medical team,” said Thomas Kallstrom, AARC executive director/CEO. “Their unique skills and training, paired with genuine compassion for patient care, provide invaluable services to the overall patient experience.”
